Fun with Abram

If you know me then you know I am rarely without my camera(much to the kids dismay) and that always results in lots of photos.
Now(to the delight of the kids) I have a new subject in our Nephew Abram LOL
He is so funny--he keeps us all laughing when we are together!
His fave thing to say is "oTay!" which keeps reminding of when Eli was in his "Oh Sure" stage at that age..I love it! Here he is creeping up on Eli this past Sunday.

What I am working on in my "free" time..

So in my "free" time I have a little obsession with a thing called Scrapbooking. :)

The past 6 months I slacked off--well if I am being honest I stopped altogether for some reason I have yet to figure out. About a month ago I started trying to scrap a few evenings a week even if it for an hour or so. I love scrapping--this is one outlet that I love!!

I am presently working on a mini-album of the kids. I am tickled with it and wanted to share what I have finished up so far.

And then last night I figured out I needed a little notebook to carry in my purse so that I can jot down scrappy ideas & this is what I made.

What a weekend!!

Well we did it...we took the leap and went to Mart! WOW what an experience.
Going to Mart as an exhibitor is a whole world away from going as a buyer! We learned a lot of different things regarding booth set-up, promos, etc and we made some fabulous friends that I can't wait to see in January!!

Here is a shot of our Booth!

Cake on the brain..

Well it seems I have had cake on the brain today. I guess this "diet" it getting to me more than I thought when I actually smell Birthday Cake even though there is none to be found within 10 miles LOL

So to help me get past this without attempting to walk to the nearest bakery(12miles) I have been getting my daily laugh from CakeWrecks. It you have not checked out this site(which means you are not one of my many email contacts as they all received the link about an hour ago) you need to go by and check it out. It is by far one of the best blogs I have come across! I went so far as to add it to my google reader so I get the daily update :):)

Time Flies

So I found this photo in my endless picture folder today and it made me stop and think.

It is astonishing how quickly time passes.

I admit I was one of those who thought "Man if I was only 16 I could drive myself to the mall and not be seen with my Mom." or "If only we could get the kids past the diaper stage..." well some days I would love to be in the backseat of my Mom's car while she drove me around, and those diapers truly weren't all that bad. I even found myself telling Eli not to rush things the other evening when he was pondering what High School would be like--Heck he is just starting Middle School in 3 weeks.. HS can wait!!

With this in mind here is my new motto: Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.-Eddie Cantor

How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?

1/2 Way Over & a Sad Heart

It seems sad when I think that there is only 4 more weeks before school starts again. It seems the Summer has already flown by when it seems like yesterday the kids were celebrating their last day of school.

Now Eli will be starting Middle School and Emma will be a 4th Grader! I think I am as nervous about MS as Eli is haha I know he will probably love it and he is going to meet so many new friends too! Emma is all ready for the 1st day already. She got a hair cut last night and is already discussing her clothes with her BFF Bailey (man oh man it starts early nowadays!!)

---------------------------------------------

It is with sad hearts that we said an unexpected goodbye to Papa George over the weekend.
I honestly had no idea that when I met the man with the "funny fingernail and who actually called someone by a cuss-word(Dad's nickname back then!)" 25 years ago that he would become such a big part of my life. He and Nana have shown me that you didn't have to be blood-related to be "True Relatives". Despite not wanting to sit by him in the truck *that dreaded mule still makes my leg shake* and always getting lots of "self-preserver" jokes he was one of the best Grandpa's a girl could ever hope for. He taught me all sorts of things about goats(of all things) and always got tickled when I wanted to be the one to catch them when they were sold. When I got married and lived behind him & Nana, he would always do a little jig at me when I went in or out of the driveway(and never failed to make me smile!) I am so proud that my own kids love him as much I do --He always made Eli & Emma laugh and they loved hanging out with him! --We love you Pop George and will miss you so much!!

Here are a few of my favorite photos of Pop and the kids.*to be added soon*

Emma & Daisy

Emma decided to forgo our normal tradition of riding the Steam Engine for the 4th this year. She had made up her mind that she wanted to enter Daisy in the Pet Fashion Show here in town. If you know our Em you know that she is crazy @ dogs so this was right up her alley.

I admit I was skeptical at first because she isn't one to just get up in front of a crowd. I even went to far as to tell her that I would not be the one showing Daisy if she turned shy once we got to the park. WELLLL...she showed me!! Emma was a total professional. It was like she had been showing dogs for years. Daisy was such a little lady too(if you can overlook her reaction to the Pot-bellied Pig that was there haha)

It was a great time all around and Emma is already planning Daisy's outfits for next year!!

Then the following week we were reading the Dahlonega Nugget and who did we come across? Emma and Daisy! Needless to say Em was completely tickled and called everyone with the cool news.
