Tea and Cookies Please

I will be the first to admit that even though my blog is about 3 years old I am actually a complete NEWBIE to the Blogging World. I am totally addicted to reading other blogs and seeing what kind of ideas others have. I have seen so many blogs that are absolutely stunning - either in the set-up, photos, or just plain awesomeness that makes me want to come back daily and read it. I am not saying that you may want to read my blog everyday, heck that would mean I would have to find time to post everyday first, but it would be lovely to have a nice one that makes a reader think to herself  "this is a place where I can hang out with a friend and have some tea and cookies" kinda blog. ;)

without the hats though

When I saw the blog critique offer I knew I wanted to be a part of it even though in the back of my mind I thought to myself --"Oh no what if no one likes me my blog, they may say mean things." Then I realized -- helloo this is not middle school(I hope) haha sooo I am totally open to all suggestions and comments to help me make my blog more Reader Friendly and FUN! :)

Below is the actual real BLURB about the blog hop -- which will help explain it better than I was able to above:
I am so excited to be part of a very unique blog hop. Gail @My Repurposed Life and MeganDVD @ Beauty in the Attempt are hosting “The Bold and the Beautiful-your blog reviewed”.

Please take a look around my blog, check out the layout, pages, buttons, sidebar and gadgets. I would love for you to gently critique my blog. I’m hoping you will leave me some positive feedback about my blog. It would be great if you could give me constructive criticism but be sure to tell me what you like about my blog too! Do you like my pictures? Does my blog load quickly for you? How about the font? All tips and tidbits welcome!

  1. Reginia, You have a very nice blog. Your layout is easy on the eyes. No music! yay!
I suggest that you have your links open in a new window. If you would like info, you can email me gail@myrepurposedlife.net. Please let me know if you blog in blogger or windows live writer.
It appears that you are NOT a "no-reply" blogger, which I'm always happy to see.
I scrolled down to look at pictures and they are nice.

  2. Hi there! Visiting from Gails blog party. Everything looks really clean and beautiful to me. Emphasis on clean because that means a lot to me. When I see a super cluttered blog I cut and run usually.

Your background image (the brown one) took a little time to load for me,but it wasn't distracting or anything.

I hope you'll stop by for a visit to my blog and share your thoughts! Have a good night!

  3. I LOVE your blog title and how you designed the lettering, very awesome job! I see where you were going with the background of the bird matching the title, but for some reason I am just not feeling the background, it does not seem to fit the tone of the blog. I also really like the images you put into the blog post, very interesting and colorful.

  4. Hello my dearest!!! Thank you so much for linking up to the party. I love the reference about middle school...so true.

I think your blog has lots of GREAT elements. It is easy to read but also has eye candy along the way. You have a lovely header...I think it is darling. If you feel a bit adventurous...play with the new design element in blogger and widen your post margin. I think this would be a wonderful touch to stretch out your posts to use more of the space to the left. But...it can be scary going in there...trust me. I am still learning how to tweek my blog without having a breakdown that I have lost everything. I think other than that...join in more parties like this when you get a chance to showcase yourself and your projects. You have such a loveliness...share it with us. :)

Thank you again my dear for linking up. I hope to see more of you around my corner of the blog world.

    Cheers~

  6. Hi! Your blog is good to look at (easy on the eyes) and I love that you don't have music playing in the background. I do like music, but I dislike that I can't turn it off and have to turn my own music off (sorry for that tangent). Anyway, I can't think of anything I'd change. I like that your Post a comment is on your page.

  8. Hi, so glad to meet you on the blog hop. I think your blog title rocks, really caught my eye. The only suggestion I have is under your archiving to allow me to see what the posts were about. If I see something for say curtains or bathrooms, I could easily click to get to that post. Sometimes just the months is a little hard to navigate through. So happy we are having this party and getting to know each other. I'll be following.

  11. Great blog! great header, very organized (me likey!!) I agree with the brown background, not needed! Your blog rocks without it! Check out blogger widgets. they added a few ways to add thumbnails to your sidebar, I think that would add a lot to your blog. Really you have done a great job!

  12. Helo! I just joined the blog hop and saw you there.... I like the simple and clean look of your blog, so I wouldn't change that too much, but I might add a few more widgets so that visitors are able to quickly and easily engage with your blog.

    :)

  13. It's nice to know I'm not the only blog newbie with an old blog! I've been making my way through the hop, and I was curious as to what was not so modern...Great title! We're living the small town life too, I'd much rather prefer it to just about anything else....But back to the blog, I like it! I like the layout, I think the little strip of color on the left hand side is nice too..A little confused, some of the other comments suggest an image in the background, but I don't see it...Maybe it's cause my computer is ol timey? Sorry as a newbie I'm a bit lacking in the feedback arena, I think it's great! :)

Great blog, beautiful title and a gorgeous layout. Honey I think you just need to visit a little more, post a little more and invite people to come over and join in. You have all the beauty and glitz, you really do. I love it. Very easy on the eye.

  17. I really like your blog, great name. Someone else commented about changing your archives so that each post shows and I agree with them, but that's the only thing I would change!

  18. Hello!! Im visiting ya from the Blog Hop :0) Have you thought about adding a Contact Me section or blurb on the sidebar? You might be suprised how many "Where on Earth did you find that fabulous {fill in the blank} emails you get just by having your email address handy. I LOVE your blog title (so so cute) but it might stand out a bit more if you add a thin black border around it.

    Keep up the great work!!

  20. Hello, over from the blog hop. I like your blog layout:) I like that you have your profile pic right up top.

My only suggestion would be to move your blog archive up and make it so people can see the post titles. I clicked into Feb. because of the blog hop, but if I had seen your title on the apothecary jars I would have clicked there anyway... (does that make sense?) In other words your posts are great, you should flaunt them:)

I like how you have the labels across the top too.
